mailing list script

im looking for a mailing list script that will allow me to collect email addresses from visitors to my site & send them an email say once a week. obviously would prefer double opt-in (that is they have to submit their email address AND reply to the subscribe message thats sent).

cgi or php/mysql is fine.

would also be great if it has functionality to be able to run this as part of a sponsor program so i can pay for emails (like ezgreen)

You have free version wich I used before and it's great. Don't know about support for sponsor program, you'll have to ask them if PRO script have that function.

If you're dealing with a large number of addys you may want to look at majordomo.
