I've only dabbled in TGPs and galleries and daily sites till now. I need to get into AVS site making. Can anyone give me a link to some kindof 'AVS newbie' site/page or tell me how to go about it?

I've heard they are the fastest way to make money in the adult biz - that true?

I still need some things made clear (absolute AVS newbie). Here's what I have gathered -

First I have to make some site, either freehost or paid host. I have to have something like 30 pictures on it(?) with my sponsor banners (any rules regarding the number/size?). I dont think I have to password protect the AVS site? Then I make an entry page with the sexkey id, and a person enters my page through entering the sexkey id (how?). I get money per avs signup and also from my sponsors clicks/signups. Avs gives me traffic (how much?).

Have I got anything wrong? Do I need soemthing else cleared up? How much bandwidth do avs sites need, anything close to tgp traffic?

Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm coming at this from the opposite side... new to CJ's, but nearly 5 years working with AVSs.

First off, it *was* really easy to make money from them, now it isn't. Still very possible, but no longer easy.

Second, there is a big difference between how much money you are likely to make with one AVS or another. Adult Check is still the best, but makes you jump through more hoops for site approval. Cyberage (formerly Age Check) and Netverifier (Pornopass) are next best. If you are starting out, I wouldn't look beyond these three.

Third, the big money is in premium (gold, platinum, elite) sites, not in regular sites. That isn't to say you can't make money from regular sites (and check the AVS rules, you may need to have one of these anyway for a month or two, to put you in "good standing", before you can submit a premium site), but the recurring income from premium sites is what makes the money add up fastest.

These days, most people are using regular sites as feeders for their premium sites, because the biggest source of buyers is existing ID holders willing to upgrade. But that brings us to point four: the links lists are no longer the source of traffic they once were. Whatever kind of site you build, you will need to bring your own traffic with you to make any serious $$$.

If you want help, a good board to ask at is:

lots of AVS webmasters there. Just don't expect them to do it all for you... ask specific questions if you can.

Thanks Jayeff. Now I'm beginning to have second thoughts about AVS sites.. let me try my luck and make a few anyway. One thing I'm still not sure of, do you just keep making AVS sites everyday like half a dozen daily or do you make one a week and work on promoting it?

If you are going to try to make your money mainly from upsells inside regular site(s) and use the links list(s) for your traffic, you need to be thinking in terms of at least 10 sites a day. Adult Check get over 500 submissions daily, all looking for a slice of that particular cake.

If you intend to make money mainly from selling IDs, then I would repeat that the best way to go is premium. Whatever you do, the number of sites you build is really determined by how many you can drive traffic to. Unless you have niche traffic of several kinds which would work best if you pointed it at sites in matching niches, there is no particular advantage, when it comes to selling IDs, in having multiple sites: especially as you can have multiple front ends all pointing to the same content.
