Just because I've put a little frame buster java script on my gallery, I'm being called a cheater.

This is getting ridiculous http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/mad.gif

yeah i tried that one. they hate it for some reason. i also got banned at some tgps because their submit scripts didnt like the javascript stuff that was in my sextracker counter on the gallery. i guess having a counter is cheating or something.

Sure, but I think that its grazy that when I post to the hun, I first need to remove my nedstat counter before I post it. Otherwise the scipt freaks about it.

Do any of you guys asking questions like this ever stop to think about how long it takes to check all these galleries?

It takes HOURS and that's without catching more than half of the crap that is posted and without beginning to catch all the smart arses who are going to play tricks after a gallery is posted: maybe 50%-60% of your "approved" posters.

So now there are scripts to cut down on this work. The best are amazing. With the one we have (Brownie), we could run maybe 8 crap-free TGPs in the time it previously took to run just 1 TGP that would piss our visitors. Don't believe it? Our bookmarks have more than doubled in the past month and our trade ratios have increased 30% without any obvious changes to our site: just the stuff going on behind the scenes.

If there is a downside, it is that while some areas are entirely black or white, some are grey: they have legitimate as well as - more commonly in the context of TGPs - illegitimate uses. But really, since simple HTML is perfectly capable of displaying a bunch of thumbnails and a few banners, why run the risk of falling foul of these scripts anyway?

Jayeff.. Yep Brownie is great. And it's also popular with larger TGP's. And what submitters don't understand apart from what you've already pointed out, is that many TGP scripts - Brownie in particular - use a reviewing FRAME. We get the gallery at the top, and a small panel at the bottom that contains the neccesary script functions (approve, decline, ban etc).
It's for that reason that we CAN'T allow frame buster scripts. Doing that means that we simply can't review your gallery because it removes our review panel.

Of course, using a frame buster doesn't really mean you're automatically a cheater, so what the deal there is I don't know.

If I was TheHun I would REALLY get pissed off if my little "I'm-In-Control-You-Have-No-Change-To-Escape-Make-Your-Time" panel got removed with every single gallery...

That's the code

For frame buster:
<!-- frame buster - code by Gordon McComb -->
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
<!-- Hide script from older browsers
setTimeout ("changePage()", 3000);

function changePage() {
if (self.parent.frames.length != 0)
self.parent.location=document.location;
}

// end hiding contents -->
</script>

Because too many webmasters were framing my galleries and I had to foot the bandwith cost. Simple java scripts will atleast prevent some webmasters (not all) from framing my galleries. I don't see how putting a frame buster code is cheating!

*sigh*
You try and help people understand and they reply with the usual rubbish.
Try READING the post.
TGP's that use scripts like this CAN'T, I repeat, CAN'T review your gallery because your gallery REMOVED the panel that allows us to accept or decline it. So if we can't accept it, we simply delete it.

If you have time a guess you could make a template only for tgps that put you in a frame

I don't submit to tgps that put galleries into frames but yet they seem to find my galleries (I guess from other tgps.)

If It's only a few tgp's that give you most of the bandwidth bill from the frames and you don't submit to them you could use a htaccess to redirect traffic from those sites
to your sponser this will not give you any problems with the tgps you do submit to as it would not show up for them

TGPs that use frames on your galleries are not worth submitting to anyway. So getting blacklisted by them would be a good way to save bandwidth.
