Can someone post a .htaccess script that works for mpg?

Hello,<br /><br />Does anyone have a .htaccess script that successfully works to protect .mpg files? I heard that it wasn't possible because Windows Media Player and other players send a referrer or something that causes problems? Alos, besides ASCII upload and 755 permissions, what else needs to be changed if anything on the server to get it working?<br /><br />Thank you very much for the help, I really apprecate it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="smile.gif" />

hmm if the media player fakes the referrer then the only way i can see to do it is to pass the mpgs thru a cgi script ..creating some kinda hash which is created on your html file ..so you cant distribute the file <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" /> or if you do distribute it it only works for a few minutes etc<br /><br />there might be other ways ..im just rambling <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> <br /><br />laters,<br />Chris

Ok, so as of now it looks like .htaccess will not work successfully for protecting .mpg or .mpeg files.<br /><br />Changing directories may be the way to do it...<br /><br />???<br /><br />Thanks.
