if a page http://www.mydomain.com/page.html is not found, the .htaccess will redirect it to http://www.maydomain.com/404.html and the address in the brower will shown http://www.maydomain.com/404.html. I saw from other site that in this case, the content will show the page 404.html but the address(url) remains page.html, what should I add to the .htaccess to achieve this?
Thank you :)

If I remember correctly, you have to use a relative url in your htacess, i.e. /404.html instead of http://www.maydomain.com/404.html.

just nitpicking.. but /404.html is not a relitive url, its absoulte (rooted at /), http://www.blah.com/404.html is just an absoulte url on a diffrent (or same) site.
and you had to an internal redirect to get the desired effect, correct Laosan?

dj-ohki,
I am not sure what's your meaning but I do use /404.html indtead of http:/www.mydomain.com/404.html, then it works fine now.
