I am considdering starting a new payout system for my partnerprograms. Would this work for you, or do you guys think it would scare ya off?

OK, listen to this* :-)
I would start out by offering all partners a normal rate (eg 50%) of all recurring income up to a fixed amount (eg. 500$) in every payperiod (14 days). And after that i would give 100%.

So, if a partner gross is 400$ he would get a payout of 200$. If he does 1000$ he would get 750$. If he does 2000$, he would get 1750$, if he does...well, i think you got the idea :-)

Point is that my max cut from each partner is 250$ of each payout, and what ever is made more goes straight to the partner.

Natually i hope to pull in some heavy guys that way...would this work? Would it scare a lot of "medium-sized" partners away?

what do you say?

best,
anders

Well i if you want to lose money thats a good approach.

If you have some big guys joining, you wont make a dime after content, bandwith and cc processors.

Sounds good for me :)
I'm sure you have a stats on your hands and 90% is under $500, right?

You better remember that most merchant accounts (Ibill and CCBill) slap you with nice fees... 15% to them, 10% emergency deposit, etc...) You would actually be losing money if you did that... wen you give affiliates 50%, you only make about 20% of your sale price offering affiliates in actuality... I learned that the hard way with $2.95 for 3-Day trials =(

The program would have to be run and paid by a well known 3rd party like Ibill for one.

Also yes, a good % of the program will be all the little fish who make peanuts. IT is good for the big fish. What is also does is increase branding through bigger people talking. Furthermore, a back end upsell module can be put in to ensure money is made off of all members.

Of course you could build it up say through ibill and when it gets big enough just click on the option in ibill that has them stop paying directly and you go off in the sunset.
