if you want my suggestion, if you don't have a lot of bookmarkers it's better to keep your ratio low- around 1.3.

If you have a lot of bookmarkers, set your ratio high (around 1.7-1.8).

The better you return, the more your trade partners will force, but if you don't have a lot of extra traffic, it's hard to return at extremely high ratios, so that's why you should keep it lower if you don't have a lot of bookmarkers.

For me, I always set it at 1.2 for my cj sites, I don't run any tgps

Set everybody to 0.1 or 10.0 or 100.0 "normal"
really don't make any big difference since UCJ set the returns according to productivity and ratio set. If everybody as the same ratio it is only productivity

but...
there are still trades who deserve more, and trades who deserve less hits.

as far as i know, ucj gives only credit for a 200%-production.
the real trade is:
1000 incomming
1500 outgoing
4000 clicks (so it would be 400%...but ucj gives this trade only 2000 clicks as credit to measure the outgoings)

for this special trade there would be a force needed,to keep up,AND to get more.

correct me if i'm wrong;-)
