I would not use http://www.networksolutions.com First of all it is a pain in the ass to change your contact info. Second of all, if you ever want to change the registrants info, you have to mail in notarized forms with both parties signautres. Then it takes like 3 months for them to process that shit anyway. Trust me, Its a Pain in the ass.

is the best!
Godaddy.com - $9 per domain name. I use it - pretty good.
Stargateinc.com - $8 if you register 2 domains at a time. Cheapest I've seen so far.

Directnic is cool, free hosting (with banner), free redirection, free email forwarding and you can change it on the fly http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
it will cost you 15$ a year...

directnic.com DEFINATELY!
No one mentioning the #2 after nsi, with $10 each and online changes? Well that is bulkregister.com a subsidiary of tucows.com
(Not recommended for 1-2 domains, $79/year membership fee)
