I'm in a network with 2 other computers.
When i'm on icq, i'm not on the server. I
use the program Gatekeeper 3.5 to connect
this computer (not server) to internet. The
cable is plugged in the server.
On ICQ I have the proxy settings on a
SOCK4 HOST+mapped port on the proxy
Now the problem is I seem to miss a lot of
messages. This happens maybe on 1 of the
20 messages I receive :-(
Can anyone suggest me what to do. I'm not
sure how to configure a new Firewall program,
like Sygate....

I'm using Zonealarm as a firewall. It can't be any easier with this program. I have experienced loss of icq messages too. But it was a combination of bad isp and icq crashing at the same time http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/frown.gif

Talking weird icq stuff.
I came back from 2 weeks on holiday, to NO icq messages.
It could be that i am a loner, and no-one messaged me, but in that time i atleast would have expected some spam.. http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif
If you guys have sent messages to me, send 'em again if you want me to read them. Not tooo sure what could have happened, but i have changed all my passwords and stuff over now, just in case.
Richard.

Yep ... I think its pretty standard that ICQ loses messages. Happens way to often to me too http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/frown.gif

See, now this is why you guys should go back to the old ICQ Version 98a Beta. I've been using it for years now, I have never had a single problem. They did a great job with their first version, they never should have upgraded the damn thing.

I am using icq98a Smitty
Icq 98b is the most stable version out there, definitely recommended. just use the database converter to convert your database if you are downgrading.
still, ive got 2000a with win98 and it works fine
