Batch page name convertor

I am making some gallerys and I am looking for a way to change the page names so they are named randomly, rather than page01,page02... and a list of the new page names is produced is there an easy way to do this

Seriously, all you want is a little script that reads all the .html/.htm files in a gallery and gives them random names of some kind.

Juggler, hit me up on icq or mail me with the specifics and i'll code you a little perl script for free.

Hey an absolutely great freeware re-naming program is called CKRename.... I believe you can search for it from download.com.

You can have it sequentialy name anything just about anyway you want..

My little perl hack is essentially done, just gunna do a nice admin to it and we are finished.

Like i said to Juggler, i'll eventually make a patch to TGSW so that this feature will be installed - the idea is you execute one perl file and it auto installs itself. Lets see how much time i have later this week http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif.

Features:

prefix/suffix filenames, with or without a random number on it.

eg page1, page2, page3 could goto sex3351, sex5223, sex0935 etc etc.

For more sophistication post your ideas on what you would like it to do.

replace the months with other words and rearrange the order

It all works now, you would goto this page on your site, enter a directory, choose whether to have a suffix, prefix, or both. Choose whether to have random numbers in it, and choose which strings to delete from the filenames.

If you want random numbers, it will delete the old name entirely, eg, with Prefix=Porn, and Random=ON, a file such as page00.html would goto "porn4231443.html".

If you had a page called hornypage00.html, selecting prefix as sex, and setting the delete string field to "horn" you would get a page called "sexypage00.html". And on it goes.

Its not the tidiest code i have written, but it does the job.

I'll do a "results" page for you guys and dish it out to you. Something like:

oldfilename.html changed to ==> newfilename.html
.
.
.
.
.
.
etc etc

There should not be any clashes, the script tries 5 times to rename the file, incase it encounters (by chance) other files with the same random number in them, though with a 6 digit random number i dont think this is likely.

Anything else you want?
