Does anyone else here use prohosters? use is a pretty funny word for me to use with them. they are pretty much down everytime I try and do any work! :(

I have a few free sites on their virtual host. Unlike other hosts, they've gave plently of warnings the past weeks that they would be relocating their servers and downtimes would be expected!

Mr.O
12-11-2001, 12:11 PM
Yeah, I do appreciate the warnings, but after awhile it doesn't seem to mean anything, it's always we are working on the problem........

Mr. O,

I feel your pain man, an unfortunate pattern is really starting to develop. Keep your fingers crossed, they were solid for a few months so let's just hope they are ironing out the kinks.

My sites are up but my mail is down.

Peace,
LiveDose :D

After they moved the server my sites are often either down or very slow.
Also cgi and mySQL are slow or offline :(

Mr.O

My sites have been down all day, and I can't get to their home page either. I'm right on the verge of deleteing everything and starting over in the business. Traffic has drop dramatically on October and it's just getting worse. I don't know wher to start I make anew site, I trade , It get's up to 10,000 hits and the next day it get 3,000..The only ting I can see as a problem is hosting. I found another hosting company that is actually cheaper and every time i go to their web site they are up!

prohosters sucks, and just as a warning to everyone don't bother using them. This downtime has nothing to do with the move to verio, and I don't think they realize people run traffic trading sites off their servers.

Mr.O
12-11-2001, 02:02 PM
How do you know, Did you use to host your sites there. If it has nothing to do with the move , what do you think is is then? Let us know so we can act

The move to verio was completed several days ago, and as most of you remember, that's why their servers were down for close to ten hours then. I'm hosting with them now, and they keep on spamming me stupid fucking e-mails about how they moved to verio. If this had anything to do with that move, they would've told us already.

fuck!! they are down again!!
all my sites are offline since 2pm est.

Mr.O
12-11-2001, 02:21 PM
Yeah, I understand exactly what your saying. I guess it's time everybody get's off them now. I'm actually looking at hosting my own sites from home. It'll probably be cheaper....

LiveDose

I don't think anyone could argue anymore against moving. This is business after all.

I can't even get to the main site to get onto the live support. Does anyone know who runs prohosters? I always got the impression that they were a very small company that decided to go into web hosting but couldn't keep up with it's growth....They are really starting to suck big time. And the problem is that if you want to move they bill you a month in advance, so my advice to everyone who is going to move is cancle your credit card and then tell them to cancel your account so they can't charge you. I had one host charge my card $1,000.00 after I told them to close my account. It's so hard to trust anyone in this business....

Dont you think the name ProHosters needs to be changed? more like JunkHosters.com or CrappyHosters.com or hostingdown.com or 404.com i am sure you can add to the list.

Mr.O,

All my sites are down... and has been for bloody ages. I've mailed them, ICQ, tickets, whatever... no reply...

At the moment we're moving all our sites away from that amateur host and expecting to do some charge backs on their billing if they got balls to bill me for nov/dec...

As they have fucked my site over and over again.

I encourage everyone to move. I hope all of this puts them out of business.

Anything under 2 dollars a gig isn't worth it.

Mr.O
12-11-2001, 03:56 PM
o.k. They are still down.... I am definately out of there. they suck! not even an email from them all day......

quotealex

I would tend to disagree. If you're paying over $2.00/Gig (ok say $2.50), you're getting fucked big time.

This is getting real old. Verio appears to be worse thatn Broadwing. They appear to talk alotta shit in their e-mail spam but are seriously lacking in backing up their talk.

They have virtually killed my traffic.

I've been with them since March. This is worse than ever. I'm going host shopping.

To everyone who has problems with prohosters : Are you on a virtual or dedicated server? I'd be interested in knowing that because about one year ago they had a lot of problems with their virtual servers while their dedicated servers remained almost unaffected, so I'd like to know if it's the same now.

Tasefulbabes
12-11-2001, 04:53 PM
dedicated

I'm on semi-dedicated. And this is totally fucking me off! I was working hard on getting my trades going after moving servers (10 hours downtime)... and now it down again... and I can start from the begining.
BTW how many hours they are down already?

I have my webmaster programs at prohosters. They are on a virtual account while the stats server is located somewhere else (not with them...thank God)

Coke,
I am on virtual, but do you think prohosters.com and irc.prohosters.com are on virtual too? This blackout seems to be too big to be only prohosters.

If anyone knows of any host which has 24/7 IRC support, 100 free IPs, and such a price per G let me know.

WOW, I just got back on line and checked this post. I didn't think this many people were on prohosters. I see they are back up now. Does anyone know what happened? I didn't get a message from them, but I'm sure they'll say it wasn't them!

I just got an e-mail blaming everything on verio. Now prohosters is making verio write us all an apology letter, and is paying off the rest of the month, which would be nice if it wasn't for the fact all my sites are dead already. Having next month is worthless when you don't have any traffic.

Here's the letter for those of you how STILL can't check mail at pro'hosers'

Dear Customer:

Here is the timetable for the downtime that occurred today: (EST)

12:00 PM Verio Dropped Internet Connection for entire DataCenter
12:10 PM Pro Hosters staff dispatched on site
01:00 PM VERIO trouble shooting issue
02:00 PM VERIO believes the issue to be a problem with BGP routes
03:00 PM VERIO trouble shooting issue
04:00 PM VERIO now believes issue to be related directly to Pro Hosters
possibly an attack of some sort.
04:30 PM VERIO has solved problem it was a CISCO bug in the rate limiting
code affecting both of ProHosters interfaces to verio
other customers up in DataCenter, Pro Hosters passing
minimal traffic
05:00 PM Pro Hosters trouble shoots issue and finds that it is not of their
network in anyway and is a VERIO issue alerts VERIO of this.
Pro Hosters belives the problem to be a misplaced access list on the
interface.
06:00 PM Pro Hosters works with VERIO to debug issue with Pro Hosters conn.
VERIO blames Pro Hosters equipment. ProHosters insists it's a bad
access list.
07:00 PM VERIO confirms it as a bad access list on their switch and fixes
the issue.
07:15 PM ProHosters notices some ips are going to random places calls
VERIO and VERIO fixes issue with a static route misplaced on
interface.
