tour section question

i have a new high profile site (in regards to marketing) that i launch within a few days. i realize that the more you ask, the more likely you'll get a yes.

i don't want to go overboard in doing so, so could you give me a good suggested range of tour pages? i have 5 as of now...i figured i wouldn't go past 10.

what are your suggestions and WHY?

Enough to close the sale, TEN is wayyyy to many. Less is more, in the case a selling to someone with hard-on!

4 or 5 tops. Reason, compare yourself to the competition to start, and I mean the big companies, CEN, CE, ARS, etc. Next, the idea you want to do is to tease the client to whip out their credit card number (no pun intended). You keep a client going from page to page, he'll lose interest.

Think of it as a drug user/dealer perspective. The first time you get a free sample to tease you. If the dealer keeps giving you free stuff you'll never buy but jump from dealer to dealer. If the dealer gives you 2-3 free, then you gotta pay, your hooked.

Same idea here, give the user a small tease and make them want more, they'll pay for it.
