I don`t know if this is the right board to post this but i really need to release my anger..

3 weeks ago DEMOMAN asked me to do a Webdesignwork for his paysite http://www.hollywood-x.com
We handled out that i will do him a Hollywood-x Ezine layout for 300 US Dollars (I have all ICQ logs to confirm this). Well i finished my work in about 3 days and sent him a zipped version of it. (You can view it at http://www.freesexsource.com/ezine/ ) Well he said its awesome and he also wanted a memberssection for 150 bucks. I told him that i want to get paid first what he owned me. He agreed and i asked him to send me the money by Western Union. Again he agreed and the day after he told me it was sent.

When i asked him then for the trackingnumber he didn`t even knew what that is.. strange for a guy that told me that he knows about Western Union.

he said he will send again... he didn`t..
now i sent him like 25 ICQ messages and e-mailed him. NO RESPONSE

now 3 weeks passed and i gave up..

But he had time to setup the ezine on his site and hes also promoting it on his tour..

Now my question to all you experienced Webmasters out there: Have I a chance to take a legal action or something against that asshole?

I am a webdesigner too, and I have also been fucked by DEMOMAN. I own the design company A-designz (http://www.a-designz.com) , and I contacted Demoman in the end of mai, about designing his website Hollwood-x.com. We agreed on a price , and he was very nice, and I worked my ass off, to make him a nice design (it is on my sample section on a-designz.com ) I also zipped the stuff up for him , and mailed it to him. He said he would pay me by wire transfer within next week (1st of june) , I did not see any money, and I thought OK, no problem, they will come....and still four weeks after, I still haven't recieved my money, and I got pissed off, so I sended him
a mail , where I said the that I would not accept to be fucked in the ass this way, and I would do anything to make him pay....

Then he finally replied my mail, saying I was a big asshole, and he already sended the money, and bla bla...

I said to him that he should do a chargeback , because I had not recieved the money...

finally in the end of july I recieved the money...after flaming him on email and ICQ.

I , in general, believe in the best of people, so I do not know if he actually sended the money or what, but seeing this post, makes me wonder...

The worst thing now is, that I have to make sample pages writing sample all over the place, then get the customer to accept the design , and get the money before I hand over the design....

One bad webmaster can really fuck it up for alot of people...;-(((

Do it old-school, guys.
Set up a contract BEFORE every deal and fax it to your partner. He has to sign it and send it back. Then you will have no problem to take legal steps and get your money back.

Killah's right. Always do this kind of works with a contract. The best would be to send the ready work saved on a floppy disk in a registered letter so he can't say 'I've never got it' either.
There're so many ways to make sure you aren't being screwed over.. just use them.

hi everybody, i just joined today here and was reading this webmasterboard untill the line http://www.hollywood-x.com dropped the line.
i designed that paysite about 8 weeks ago and my design has been on since then. also Demoman payed me instantly. so i really don't know what all these guys are talking about. ( I never heard of this story before) I have never seen one of their designes used on that site. ( I do not doubt that is it true).
I just had to mention that Demoman is a cool guy where we have worked together with before and always have been payed or whatsoever.
