View Full Version : Nasty tricks comming backl? :-(
What should be done when finding sites that is using crash layers?
I noticed that a few sites started using them again.
Personally I kill the trade no matter if I'm trading 100 hits or 5K with them / day.
Also don't care if their productivity is 50% or 120%
Ii won't see everything turning back like it was a few months ago because a few webmasters is too greedy about getting more traffic.
But should they be postet as cheaters or should I just keep my mouth shut?
Right now I'm talking about stuff like Download box layers, fake scrollbars, crash box layers etc.
I'm sure no one is interested in trading with stuff like that, but it is not excactly cheating! http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/confused.gif
How can u sit there and write that shit, we are cycle jerk sites, our site are full of blindlinks and all those layers are, are just another blindlink. I dont know what you are going on about...........

Thats why we use scripts that trade based on prod/traffic combination. http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

I feel the same.
You shouldn't use stuff the surfer would not expect a window to open on, etc.
How far do you go?
The layers where you have a picture of a window should not be used because what happens when a surfer clicks on the X button?
Its really hard to call on this one.
In an ideal situation, you would use image maps that make only clicks on the porn stuff open a new window - but we all want clicks don't we http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
I think that at the moment we are not going to get rid of porn style layers, but stuff that is totally unrelated like crash layers, system messages etc should definitely not be used.
Tim, i think that you need to add a new board here for this kind of discussion, where people should be alerted (arf arf arf http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/smilies/laugh.gif ) to such sites.
(it'll give me another chance to score the 1000 post...thats my real incentive http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif)
How about it?
Richard.
Do you guys ever wonder why the traffic brokers when't out of buss.? and stopped buying traffic.
The only one I can say survived without problems was sellyourexit.com due to the fact that they made very strict rules.
Now buyers has started to come back again but do you think that would last if people start using all this shit again?
I'm not thinking only on the fast cash for the next 2-3 weeks..... I'm also thinking 2-3 months ahead.
I could easily get my site upto 100K in no time by adding a crash box and a DL layer and I would make a nice amount of cash. NOW.... but what then in 2-3 months when all the buyers backed out again because they loose money on this? It needs to be a win win situation for all of us.

LOL, I get those windows even though I not surfing the net http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
If your trading with people who are using those layers. Just talk to them. If they won't remove them then just don't trade with them.
Put it in your rules and flame them on the board when they break them. http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Lol Avatar ! Good point ! Everyday I receive those kida messages, which reminded me of an old joke. I dont know if it's off topic or not, but I want to say this joke anyway:
> There was once a young man who, in his youth, professed his desire to
> become a great writer.
> When asked to define "great" he said, "I want to write stuff that the
> whole world will read, stuff that
> people will react to on a truly emotional level, stuff that will make
> them scream, cry, howl in pain and anger!"
> He now works for Microsoft, writing error messages.
