Newbie question - Less hits than I send

Hi All -

I am just starting out with traffic trades. I don't run a script, I just put in the links by hand. It seems like I am never getting much back as I send.

For example, according to the counter on Sliders thums, my site, http://www.teamporno.com has sent 491 hits to Sliders post today. But on my sextracker sats I only show about 125 hits from Sliders. This has been true for every UJC site I've traded with: kutepics, call-kelly, Danish hardcore, fuckingseries, mature post.

Am I not doing something right? Or do I need to be using UCJ? Any help would be appreciated. I know my question may sound dumb. Go easy on me folks, I've always run compeltely clean TGPs and have never done any link trades at all !

Thanks for the response. On my own stats (which are from sextracker) I'm only looking at Uniques. I don't know what the other sites (like sliders are counting) - but the discrepancy couldn't be that high, could it? And doesn't UCJ make sure that the same people won't be sent to my twice multiple times?

There is always a big difference in what you send and what you recieve. Especialy if you are trading with a script that rates on productivity (UCJ)

There is also always a difference in what your stats say, and what your trading partners say. I try figure about a 20% error gap to make the trades equal.

So if I send 1200, I figure his stats show 1000 and if my stats show 1000, I figure he sent 1200

Thanks Exxxotica, but if sliders post shows that I've sent over 500 hits doesn't that mean that it's supposed to send back even more than 500? I thought the way the scripts work is that they promise to send back more (thus the claims 120%)

I'm not tracking how many hits I'm sending - I'm only going buy what Sliders tells me. It says I sent 500 and yet I've only received
In this case, I've only received 132 back, so I'm not getting a 120 return - I'm not even getting a 25% return. Am I doing something wrong, or do I just not understand how it all works?

This may be of help,,,, i dunno, Okay, UCJ top list usually shows the raw hits a person has sent, versus, the x3 script shows uniques. My trades with the ucj are either done in "Ratio" or "Normal". If you are trading traffic NEVER use a third part counter like sextracker.
Basicly they SUX with their refferers. All third part counters do that.

Slider wrote back to me and told me that the number of hits I've received back are, indeed, based on productivity. So even though I sent 500, only 130 (about the number of hits he sent back) clicked on his links.

Someone (sorry I forgot the name) said that trading without a script is gutsy. Can you elaborate on this?

As for sextracker's referrers being accurate, I am starting to think you are right. I've written to the support person there and tried various scripts. When I use some counters it shows that I get tons more traffic, they all seem to be quite different. Anyone have any advice on which is the best counter (besides logs on your server)?

If you are running a CJ site, basicly you are going to get screwed without a script...unless you are watching stats 25 hrs a day. A Script automaticly adjust according to your trade partners traffic. If he all of a sudden he sends more...you script will send more...if he sends less, you send less...and automaticly send it to another trade instead of wasting it.

What type of site do you run? CJ sites should only trade with other CJ sites. If you are a site with content and nonblind links, your traffic will be wasted on a CJ site. Your surfer is going to hit a CJ site and say "what a piece of shit site!" and close the window...This will show you to be having low productivity. Or vice versa...If you have a CJ site and you send a surfer to a site with content...I would think you would get poor quality traffic back. CJ sites dont want experienced surfers who are used to free porn.

Im not even sure if Im making sence..I had a few beers and it is very late here.

I guess gutsy is not the word, rather tedious. Its just alot of work to keep up with your trades without a script. At least it is now since apparently everyone uses some script

flathead, it's gutsy to trade without a script because for one thing, you can easily be cheated.

what if a site starts sending you hits. they have your link on their front page. but they secretly make your site the dreaded 0 frame?

this shows as a hit by many stats, and does not actually send you any surfers. and since you send them YOUR surfers, soon your site is back to nothing.

we used to use an old school top 50 script. we got cheated only twice, but they killed the site dead... and it took less than a day!

without a trading script with some cheat protection, eventually you will get ripped off.

Hi All,

I'm back. Well, things seem to be going pretty well. On Sunday I had 2,350 uniques, Monday had 3,320 and today (and there's 7 hours left in the day) I already have 3,200 ... so it looks like I'm growing by about 1K a day.

Exxxotica - I'm not really sure how to classify my site and who I should trade with. I have 20 new links a day, with 3 blind links mixed in in so 20 content/3 blind. I just have two days on the main page and keep a one month archive of past posts. I guess that makes me a "content" site, correct?

Can you recommend who I should trade with? In the last few days I've traded with these sites: Call Kelly, Mature Post, Fucking Series, Sliders Post, Smut scan, Mega Titz, and Kute pics. The order I just listed those sites is the order of hits they send me back. I seem to get way more hits back from Call Kelly and Mature Post than any of the others. Can you, or anyone, recommend some other sites that could send me back as many hits as these do? I think what I'll do is change who I trade with everyday so my surfers will see new sites and give them a try. Is that a good strategy?


Taked down, I guess it is tedious. But since I'm new at it, it's kind of fun right now - I want to watch very closely to make sure I'm growing my traffic every day. Maybe when I get up to 20 or 30k (if I do!) I should switch to a script? I just don't want to put so much effort into putting together a good list everyday if there's no one there to see it, and I ran my site for a month with only 1.5k visitors ecah day. I was putting in an hour or two a day and not getting enough visitors to justify it.

Oh, and Exxxotica, I woudl like to trade with you, but I don't want to send my users off to movie sites from this one. I feel it would be giving away too much and would cut into sales. I will build a movie site some day, and I'll definitely trade with you - your site layout is awesome.

Bass chick, I don't even know about this frame business... but so far I think I'm trading with pretty reputable sites, aren't I? Can you explain the frame trick?

So, basically, can anyone out there recommend some more trading partners like mature post and call kelly that are sending me back so many hits?

One more question .. when I sign up to send sites to a UCJ site is it OK to send them from diffeerent pages on my domain? For example, can I leave the links to my trading partenrs on my archive pages, and know that they'll still be counted by the UCJ script?
