I found that I like many of the features in Cliff's free tgp management script...it's a fairly easy admin area with TONS of options...ie, can lock out text of posts (ie, teenie weenie lolita, etc)...can lock out certain emails or hosts from posting to your site....can auto approve some webmaster emails that you trust...rotates banners on certain categories of pages that you specify...etc etc etc...

If ya got some spare time I'd get his free script...set it up...check out the admin area...and buy it or have a similar one made in C for speed.

Yeah Cliff's free tgp management script is pretty nice.
The only problem is that you have to make the layout in a Perl file so it's not for newbies if you don't want your site to look like all other sites using that script.
A KICK ASS script would be Cliff's free tgp management script using template files and have the feature of rotating posts out after X days instead of X posts. And also some kind of built in Top Refferer system. The script also generate like a million files or so, so that frame it uses when people view the galleries should also be skipped :-)
If you are programming such a script let me know because I could use that on ThumbZone then :-)

BTW.. also need some kind of feature so you can mix your own links from a standard DB in for every X post you approve :-)

I totally hear ya on working in a topreferrers list or something...I've had to run a second cgi for automated link trades off my movie post. It works...but not as efficient as it could be...

I like the ease of page set up using head.txt and footer.txt files that purplestreet's tgp use. The process of modifying cliff's script for unique output took me a day to add all the "/" & crap into perl....total pain the the butt..

If yall ever find a nice Top 10 referrer list script please post where ya found it. I hate doing link trades by hand and that would be a great addition to "any" site that you're trading off of....other than CJs of course :-)

A friend of Anthony is collecting ideas of what users want in such a script.

In about 2 weeks he starts coding and includes everything whats wanted and possible.

Here is my list I sent to him:

Since I do not have much experience with running a TGP I would love to hear if I am coming close...

Sounds like it's gonna be a very nice tgp script. As long as it's coded to handle some decent traffic and is as flexible as you've requested in your list...it'll rock.

Can't wait to hear and see how it works when up and running.

I used cliffs script a while back and consdering the price it was great I found it relly easy to set up and use. The biggest downside was the layout personally I did nut like the look but it has some good features banners rotion etc, if I was going to use it I would pay for the pay version otherwise you get a email prog on the site and consdering emails is proberly a good way to make $$$$ on a TGP I would want my own email prog on there, Also it is once less thing affecting the look. As I said it has been a while since I have used it so I do not know ig Cliff has made any changes but my view on the tgp script is a 100% thumbs up except the layout but I am sure with a bit of imagination that could be ok.

I talked to Splitz. He lost his dedicated Server which had his scripts and domains on to a failure. So, he's backed up. That was last week. Hopefully he's back up, I'll keep you all updated.
