The question is:
Is FREE trials good?
I am not sure... My site (http://www.ukraine-teens.com) have good sign up ratio without trial membership.
$29.95 x 50 (sign ups) = $1497.5
$2.95 (trial) x 50 (sign ups) = $149.75 + $1048.25 (70% recurring) = $1198
this is a new way of spam....
Also you never get 100% recurring on signups... unless you don't have a cancel page = high chargeback ratio = HUGE fines from your CC processor = no paynment to webmasters = you are trying to screw webmasters in order to get some fast cash.
Is that correct?
I say 70% recurring.
Members received all info by mail (cansel membership)
And our webmasters (500+) always receive earned.
Certifier AVS work with us ( http://www.certifier.com). Just asked them.
And before to tell sometimes before think.

normally wouldn't you have more signups on trials than normal 1 month only stuff?
those calculations makes no sense to me...

Personally, I do not like trial memberships. I wish every site on earth stopped using them. I even get some of my recurring sponsors to yank the link for trials on the tour for my account. I want the damn full membership right off the bat.
Free trials are asking for trouble. There is always a big loophole that winds up dicking the webmaster out of money. And SPAM and eggs are part of a nutritous breakfast!
