Hello,
I am using the UCJ-C for my site (just stating what i use not that there is any problem with the script), and my question is that my click thru ratio compared with hits in is always about 50% of the hits in. No matter what changes i seem to doi cant get it any higher than that, actually it seems the more traffic i send it the less click thrus i get (percentage wise)

I know this must mean my site sucks so no one is clicking thru, but would any one be able to give me some advice on how to get clickthrus up while still staying a clean site.

Thank you

It would probably help if you posted your url so that we could see your site and notice any distinct problems. Also a big problem with low click thru has to do with fresh traffic. If you have fresh traffic you will get high click thrus, if you recycle traffic (which you shouldn't) no matter what design you have, you will get shitty click thru. Let me explain, if you are feeding in fresh traffic and they come to your sites and see a link like "Nude Britney Spears" they will click that, now they are in the circle and will most likely click a few more times. Now if you are recycling traffic, you will probably get a surfer that has clicked "Nude Britney Spears" on another site. It didn't take them to her nude so why would they click it again. Sorry for the long post, but it is all about the fresh traffic!

Also you've got to compare your site to who you trade with.

If you have a magnificently clean site and trade with the meanest console hells it won't matter how well designed your site is it is impossible to get a high clickthrough rate.

To give an extreme example say if all your feed traffic is exit traffic it should be easy to see that its impossible to get a high clickthrough as half the surfers will close your window before they see your nice design. Same thing goes if people are sending you traffic via things like fake javascript alerts etc. Half those surfers won't see your site as they'll be in a window closing frenzy. So of course your clickthrough will be low.

So the moral is trade with sites of a similar level of clean.

Fresh Traffic is always a nice addition too http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif
