seems like all the other fee scripts.. The biggest problem is probably the fact this one is raw too..

No - the biggest problem is that when people can begin running a traffic trading site with little or no investment, then there's really no incentive for them to try and make it work.
No i don't agree, some of us jerks have had the worst luck you can emagin! If i could have bought a script, TRUST ME when i say i would have!
But when you get fucked out of dollars time after time it's kinda hard. http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif

I agree with Ron, many of us started into this biz with Zero dollars and 2 tons of effort....of course we're the ones still here years later....the ones that use a free script, and don't put in the effort will come and go....which reminds me of my favorite bumpersticker "Welcome to California - Now GO HOME!" http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
PS: Happy Egg Day & may all your flatulence be oderless

i have a few comments on this script too:
this might be a good solution for those small webmasters who cant afford $2000 script. Its cheap and it has some good features. But i would not recommend it for people with traffic over 10-20k per day.
Here are the reasons:
1. The dbase is updated absolutely real time which takes lots of server resources.
2. It has not been tested on sites over 20K
3. I have been talking to the programmer personally and he is working on a new version which seems to be much better.
4. Its in perl which is slow.
5. The script has been presented to the market before its even finished. There are bugs that must be corrected.
Anyways, if you are just starting as a CJ webmaster and you think $2000 is way too much for a script, TEX might help you out here. Just to find out what CJ world means http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif
BUT absolutely this script must not be free.
$200 is a good price. (Id give $100 though)
And for all the guys that worry about cheats and low quality traffic: i dont think this script might do much harm really. Just try it out and you will see why http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Perl is slow cos its an interpreted language.
So each time a script is called perl.exe has to load and compile it.
Using mod_perl embeds the interpreter into the server so there are no resources used on start-up. Also, it will cache the perl script on the first time it is called, making the compiled code already loaded. Coupled with the integration with the apache API makes perl a fucking wikid language.
!
Richard
yep i heard that
but as far as i know not many servers support this feature, so most of the times the perl interpreter has to be called. And a new process also, which is eating lots of RAM.
anyone know more about how to use that mod_perl pls post it here or msg me on icq

Well all I know is that I woke up this morning facing a msg from my admin that he had to delete my TEX script.. the CPU load was too extreme.
Way to "kill" a site LOL
The site was running at 15k uniques so that might have something to do with it though!
Anyone heard something about the upcomming UCJ IV? Price or features.. maybe release date?

well thats what must have been expected.
i dont like to offend zinner cuz hes a nice guy and stuff, but i really dont think the script can handle more than 10-20K.That is my personal opinion, tell me if im wrong.
And all the smart guys who know stuff about mod_perl and perl->apache integration, my icq is 42154853, thank you.

http://www.modperl.com - got get this book, top dollar.
also check http://perl.apache.org
Very exciting stuff.
Richard
ok i read a few lines about it but heres the question:
as far as i understand, this feature must be configured by the server admin or whoever owns the apache server. But what if the server im using is not configured for mod_perl?
and then again how do i know if it is or it isnt?
the idea seems to be very cool, but im just not sure people can use it on all servers.

You need to be running Apache as your webserver.
I am not much of a techie, and dont understand virtual hosts etc etc, so dont know if you could use it running under one. We have a dedicated server hosted with http://www.bluegravity.com and we just emailed them and asked to set it up on our server for us.
15 mins later we were ready to rock.
Ask your admins at the hosting company about getting it jigged up for you - its not too hard at all.
Best thing is, aswell as having access to the apache API, you can run your normal cgi scripts super fast.
mod_perl rules.
Richard.
strange thing i have my account on blue gravity too... http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif
but not the dedicated server yet. Ill work on it thanks anyway
