Does anybody knows what's going on at Networksolutions? I registered a domain sunday and it's still not registered!!!

Okay, i should have wait 3 minutes before posting the post, now (1 hour after I checked it) hollywood-x is registered and the WOIS works, but still waiting for the DNS to work correct http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/frown.gif

I recently set up a new domain through another company, it cost 1/3 as much and was quite speedy. However it did take about a day and a half after the registration went through for the new name to propagate through all the name servers (this is not a factor of who you register with).

Sieg, do we have to take an hosting plan when regitering a domain at http://www.xxxwebhosting.com/order2.html? Or can we choose the blank "plan type" just below the Dedicated Server choice in the Plan Type input box, so we just pay for the domain registration?

I got the hosting plan too (they set me up in one hour flat, and on Saturday!) but I think you can get a domain independently. Call them and ask, the phone# is on the site.

i have used the xxxwebhosting to host my site for the last year and half..only had a couple of problems in the whole time..but it sounds like they got a pretty good deal with them....

Sorry I forgot, not everybody who reads this board is in North America. I called and asked. Unfortunately you have to buy at least one month on their hosting (minimum $50/month) to get a domain, so it isn't cheaper than Network Solutions until the second year. I remember hearing about another company that sells domains for a lot less than NS but don't recall where, sorry.
