how to stream a webcam?

i have a few people wanting to stream webcams on their sites, instead of using free services that plaster your cam page with ads & such.

my question is, how do u do this? the software that came with my webcam for instance, does not allow for this... and i assume something has to be installed on my server....

Im working on incorporating chat to go along with the video with this program, the video is a cinch to get going, problem comes when ya wanna start billing them for how long they view ;)

While on this topic anyone set up using EMU Live for webcam broadcasting?
