Does anybody know what kinds of categories they do not accept?
I'm running small links site, I have just submitted to Yahoo($600) and I've got rejected.
I have Amateurs, Asian, Anime, Babes, Black, Boobs, Fetish, For Sale, Gay, Hardcore,
Join4Free, Latinos, Lesbian, Mature, Pantyhose, Shamale,Teens, Voyeur, Watersports,
LinkSites&TGP and Miscellaneous categories.
They said
"We're sorry to report that your site still does not qualify for
listing in the Yahoo! Directory. When we revisited the site, we
found a link on the front page of your directory that contained
material inconsistent with the spirit of Yahoo!.
Due to the dynamic and rapidly changing nature of web sites, the
Internet, and Yahoo, our team continually revisits categories and
sites and makes changes accordingly. This process includes adding
content to our directory, and in some cases, we remove content.
We will not discuss specifics as to why a site or category was
removed or not added to the directory. Yahoo! periodically exercises
its reserved editorial discretion. For an idea of what we do list
we suggest you take a look at the adult sections on yahoo.com:
/Business and Economy/Shopping and Services/Sex
/Society and Culture/Sexuality"
I'm guessing that one of my categories is not accepted by Yahoo, but I have no idea which one!
Can anybody help me with this?
So you just lost 600 bucks?

I believe Yahoo is required to tell you why. That's exactly why you paid 600, they said that they will either accept you or tell you why not. They didn't say why not. If I were you, avoid losing the 600 and redesign a site to get listed in the next 30 days and appeal.

This was appeal.
Fisrt letter they said
"We're sorry to report
that your site did not qualify for listing using the Yahoo! Express
service. When we reviewed the site, we found that it contained material
outside of the scope of this program.
The Yahoo! Express Terms of Service state that in order to be
listed in the Yahoo! directory, a site must meet the following
minimum criteria:
"The site must not contain any content, products, services or
other information that, in Yahoo!'s reasonable determination,
may be illegal to sell under any applicable law, statute,
ordinance or regulation, that may infringe or violate anyone's
rights, or that, Yahoo! believes, in its sole discretion, is
inflammatory, offensive, or otherwise inconsistent with the
spirit of Yahoo! Express."
If you have questions, or would like to request a reconsideration
of this decision, please email us within thirty days by replying
to this message."
How the f*ck do I know they were talking about one of my categories.
I've only checked my galleries, links and made some changes and appealed.
I guess I lost my $600.
I am the sucker of the week.

You know you do0ds should always visit searchenginematrix.com and post on the board in the yahoo cat about your site b4 you submit to yahoo and EXP if you get a reject email. You really have to know what your doing when submiting to yahoo these day's.
prob #1 = wrong category.
shoulda been:
http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Shopping_and_Services/Sex/Directories/
prob #2 = Editor didn't like something about ur site. did your domain or title by any chance have the word "Fuck" in it? Some Yahoo editors really dont' like that.

to The Ace,
I suggested category
http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Shopping_and_Services/Sex/Directories/
and my domain and site name are
http://www.1sexlinks.com/
#1 Sex Links.
All I can think is one of my categories is not fit their Terms(?).
And I guessing that is Watersports category.

Oh, for the searchenginematrix.com,
nobody's ever posted over there anymore.
I asked about my site site long time ago and I didn't get any reviews at all.

I agree, search engine matrix in some cases haven't been posted to in over a year! I use searchengineforums.com now, it's not porn specific but at least its active.

I usually read posts at searchengineforums.com, because it's not porn specific I couldn't post my URL for any advice over there.
Basically they are saying that the first version of your site was plain illegal, and after you submitted it the second time, they still "found a link on the front page" going to a page which they considered to be "material inconsistent with the spirit of Yahoo".
Since they have some kind of anti-censoring position regarding content (as far as I can tell) I just could guess that they found the link VERY offensive.

Yea SE matrix has been dead for a little while. Guru sent me a email a week or so ago asking me to become a mod there as he was going to give the site CPR to bring it back to life so to speak.
Anyway man, just visit the board before submits like that and post and I'll help ya 4 sure =)

To TheAce,
Did you check my site out?
I appreciate any kinds of advice from you or anybody.
I'm pretty pissed off and thinking about trying again til I get listed.
I don't know how much traffic they will send me once I get listed, but better worth $1,200 dollars.
Shhhhhit! $1,200 for damn Yahoo!

I hate to say it, but I would agree with the editor.
I don't think they liked the cyberotica link on the warning page.
There is no real spang-a-lang to your site.
1.) 1sexlinks.com is not really a catchy name. It seems as though you have engineered the name to get high placement alphabetically.
2.) The design is average. Nothing really catchy to distinguish it from other directory sites out there.
3.) From what I could see there are not a lot of links either.
I would suggest spending the $600 on redesigning the site and buying traffic from findwhat.com. Then optimize some pages for google.com--that will get you in yahoo.
<rant>
fuck yahoo! they have _hordes_ of copyrighted content in yahoo! clubs.
Plus, I think the editors jerk-off to screwing people out of their money.
