i just saw 'em at ozzfest, they put on a real good show, high energy, the thing is, they're singing all these heavy lyrics, screamin, and shit, but the lead singers have these big smiles on thier faces, its kinda funny, not what u usually see at a metal show, anyways, they had some hot bitches on the side too, so their cool

Oh come on. Linkin Park, or what used to be knows an "Hybrid Theory", are the newest creation of the same media whore spin doctors who brought you the Backstreet Boys. Songs and music written by a think tank of 40 year old men. Laaaaaaaame. They are about as rebellious and hardcore as my grandmother.

You want hardcore? Go dig yourselves up some Hatebreed, Mushmouth, NJ Bloodline, 25 ta Life, Bane, Embrace Today, Poison The Well, 36 Fists, 100 Demons, Day of Mourning, No Warning, Buried Alive, Crawlspace, American Nightmare, Cold As Life, Sworn Enemy, Death Threat, Raised Fist and the list can go on and on and on.

You probably have never heard of any of it cause it isnt on the radio, nor is it on MTV. They pull up their pants, dont wrap themselves up in suburban whiteboy wigger mentality, and do not appeal primarily to 16 year old girls. Unlike Linkin Park.

Here is a good indicator of whether or not your band is shit. If a 16 year old girl thinks it is "bad ass" (ie Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit), or your cousin who wears his hat on sideways thinks its so "fucking hardcore". Then its shit. Plain and simple.

hey, blowmeuptom - the teenage girls i know hate linkin park. they say it is "boys' music" and only wear the shirts and listen to get boyfriends.

i'm not 15 - everyone i listen to doesn't have to be rebelling to make music i like. my band will never make radio but that doesn't mean i don't like anyone who does.

i like linkin park, but i also like lots of bands that will never make any commercial label or station in their lives. whether commercial media likes a band or not - i couldn't care dick either way.

Do you like there music or do you just listen to them in order to try to impress the 12-16 year old females? There is plenty of room for all types of music so there really isnt any reason for anyone to put anyone down because of the type of music they perform or listen to.

If I was shitting on any kind of music, its mainstream top 40 MTV dribble. I find bands that are mass produced and force fed down Americans necks on a daily basis to be nauseating.

The bands that I represent, deal with, distribute, and book shows for, do not under any circumstances want to be on MTV. And do not estimate their "staying power" or their worth based upon how many teenage girls are wearing their t-shirts. Believe it or not, there are people out there who make music for the sake of music.

Sure, my choice of music is highly selective, there are alot more genres of music out there with huge fan bases that do not rely upon MTV or the radio to acquire fans. I listen to a huge range of music. I listen to everything from classic British Oi to classical to crust punk. None of which, aside from classical, will you find on any radio station or MTV. Its not pretty, and like I said, the bands do not measure their success based on $$$.

Hardcore, if you want to lump me into a scene, despises everything most of you hold dear. We largely resent your prefabricated MTV boy bands and mass consumption of talentless throw away artists to be not only repugnant, but insulting to anyone with half a brain.

We like our hardcore, and we like the fact that you people know nothing of it. We do not need you tainting our gene pool. We are not going to make millions at this, everyone in hardcore knows this from day one. Much the same way anyone who gets into Iranian Pan Flute music knows they wont become the next Metallica. Who the fuck cares. If you measure your success by how much pussy you can get, or how many records you can sell, all you have proven to me is one thing. Your nothing but one of a million other fucking idiots who will mindlessly flock to the next big thing that MTV shoves down your throat. Go ahead cattle... graze on.

If you are in the music industry as you claim then you should know better than most that those "MTV bands" are what powers the music industry, like it or not. It's not about music, talent or integrity, ist's all about $$$, and it's that money that makes way for non-commercial bands/artists to promote their product. Also, I know a lot of guys in the hardcore scene and can honestly say they don't share the same narrow-minded attitude you have.
