I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out.
My partner and I have set aside a few thousand dollars to start up an adult freehost with full FTP.
We need a programming solution to automating account setup and header/footer banners.
Also, what should we pay for bandwidth? Burstable line or capped for damage control?
Any help would sure be appreciated.

first i would take the few thousand you have and invest it elsewhere http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
it takes alot more than that to do it right, sure you can get a little crap box and a lame script and do 100,000 hits a day , but having $400 left to split between you and your partner at the end of the month is a waste of time when it takes alot of time to run these things, and that is not enough to invest back in to grow.
Then you have copyright issues, pedophile sites, hackers, hardware ,sponsors not paying on time(this is a major headache right now)..all of this to deal with everyday.
Now all of that said and done, if you do go ahead with it, go to isprime and get a turnkey solution,i have been running freehosts 2 1/2 years now, my headaches have decreased 90% since i moved there.
But it will take more than a few thousand. http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

So what would you do if you had 10,000 to invest and a partner that is foaming at the mouth to make $$$ in th e adult biz.
I suggested a massive free site building binge, does that sound like a way to go?

Moose is right running a free host takes time and most important money! We can have you on the way to running a free host in no time at all. What you do with it is your business but we do our best to help as much as we can. But it all mainly depends on you! Still interested icq me #51130723

Buy AVSBlitz and crank out a shitload of sites with it.. muhahah..
But really, if you've got 10k in capital lying around, why don't you make a buttload of gold sites or something

Heres an idea colo a server get about 50 TLD's and pay webmasters to build you AVS sites like someone else i know of (lets try to hold back spam in this one). Maybe even startup some new free pic mail programs but if you really want to put it to good use don't gamble with it. Start with a fraction say $1k and make something with that this way you get your feet wet and test the water before drowning yourself. I am shure you will recieve spam from plenty of people and probably have already after mentioning that amount of money on here. But dont grab the first goose just because it swears to lay golden eggs.
Another thing would be to use that money as collateral and gain a partnership or find a small invester so you face less risk. I would personally get myself about $1k worth of content right off the bat since you can use it regardless as a promotional tool in this biz or broker it to somone else. If you want more advice im full of ideas and you can contact me anytime no deals or strings attached.

I think I can write a script for you, that checks headers & footers
if not applied, it applies
I agree with the AVS idea,
I think its really the safest bet. Its hard telling what is going to happen with Federal Regulation or whatever even if its several years down the road. If you built all those sites behind an AVS, you would have no worries if Legislation were to take place, its much better traffic, but its harder to promote.
As far as everything else in the biz, I wish I had an answer. I agree with Moose, its all changing real quik with signups, oversaturation, and everything else to know any safe bet.
