I just tried it today, it is not good
if you get 1000 impressions and less than 5 clicks your account is suspended, I tried about 10-15 not so popular keywords, the account was suspended with 1 clickand 1000 impressions in about 5 minutes.

Same here... you need to click on the ad yourself if you hope to keep yourself active. Google requires a 0.5% clickthru ratio. Of course I don't see how that's really possible considering the results are out of the way from the search listings.

WG

Hmm, I have ok results.
I have some cheap spots, but only buy targeted german, swiss and austrian traffic for a german site. My CTR is about 0.9-1.2%. Only very little traffic though.

If you have good ads it rocks. I'm pretty happy with it.

how does google make money anyways? Doesn't seem to me like they're run by any marketing gurus, but still must be doing something right...

Zero success rate with them. A few clicks...but most people don't look at the right side of the screen where these run. (That's why the universal convention is for links to be at the left or top on most web pages).

I'm getting plenty of traffic off them but it converts like shit. This seems strange as I would expect google traffic to convert really well.

I like Google, and the ad words, you guys just have to use different keywords and not the same cookie cutter advertising man.

Wow, so you're out 15 bucks, think different.
