might try iProtect much like pennywise but much better in many ways including that your server does not have to contact theirs to decide to block or not.

Install is compiled into apache so its mighty speedy

Hello
doesn't CCBILL protect us from passwords being used by password traders?
basschick
04-17-2002, 07:53 PM
no, ccbill does not protect your site from password traders. the panty site runs at around 1.5 mbps and one day there was a spike at 10 mbps from password sites - which was when we got pennywize.

How well does Pennywize work?

Heya Basschick,

Make your site a form login and you will deter about 90% of the crackers for sure.

IntheBlue: how do you think we can make form login when we use CCBILL ?
toker
04-19-2002, 07:33 AM
Form Login is just as easy to crack if you have the right tools. If you want the most protection you dont buy out of the box scripts period.

Hire a programmer to create a solution that only uses logins based on email and you will deter them 99% of the time. You will still always have to deal with carders and prob even more so if you create a more heavy demand for guys who cant crack and want access.

What the best thing is to use email as login and create a TGP style fake paysite to send leaches to. This will keep them out of your real site and give them a satisfaction of accomplishment.

In most cases they will prob not want to return if it looks cheap and they will spread the word to their cracker buddies that its not worth the effort.

SpyCam - it can be done. There is a script around for ibill form login too.

Toker - form will get rid of 90% of the crackers which are button pushers, those are the ones who run 40,000 combos against a site, get a single crack and then advertise it all over the place to show off. There is very little to stop the ones that are real knowledgable but they most often do it for the fun, not for the porn or to dole out the passes they get.

I wrote this for ynot and it is pretty informative: http://www.ynotmasters.com/news/ynews/issues/112901/page5.html
