I was wondering how a self-called sponsor-ranking site like sponsorwatch.net works. They shouldn't be buyable... So I contacted Santa, the owner of Sponsorwatch.net to see if there is a chance to buy a good name...

I'm just pointing to a big problem in this bizz. People try to ruin names of companies for some bucks. "Sponsor.com owes me 54 bucks since 3 weeks !! They are the biggest scam, let's track them down!!" and BS like that. Now if you are able to buy a good name with 2 lously grands... Not sure what it takes to buy a bad name for a competitor if you pay webmasters to post BS about them...

In fact you were wondering shit, wasn't it more like how it would feel to come back to the board and pose as a cool investigator type of guy. Oh boy what a shaby attitude. You could do that with almost everyone, just a question of how much you need to offer. Santa has proved to be pretty resistant though. There is still no proof that he would have done it, and sponsorwatch is still the best resource of that kind as it gives a good overview for a newbie.

If you are in a position that leads others, you have a responsibility. A site can be there to make cash and to fool people arround or it's there to lead them. If I would ask YNotmasters to make some fake-listings for me, they would stick the 2 grands into my ass and that's exactly what I expected from Sponsorwatch as well.

recently a host wanted to know what i would want to recommend him. i have sent a lot of people to my current host, who i am happy with.

i told him what i would need would be an account on his hosting that i was happy with for a period of time.

after a lot of neat offers, i never changed from that position - and i would never tell anyone that a sponsor paid me when i had not been paid.

What happened here is a very SERIOUS matter indeed, and the gentleman who pulled the trick on
Mr. Santa has to be given credit for this. Again it is here accentuated that websites like these have to
be 'sponsor advert free' and perhaps only take ads from non-sponsor programs. They best stay
non-commercial.

Guys offer me cash for advertising repeatedly and my answer is always NO, we have taken the
decision not to accept advertising in order to remain impartial in every case - money should turn no
man committed to honestly and integrity - what stunning deceit would this be to all those
hard-working webmasters putting their trust into you as a resource center.

I think some of you fellas is missing a very important fact here ! Sponsorwatch is not your site, it´s not our site, it´s MY site, and my site alone.And I intend to run the site as it pleases me, and I sure don´t remember ever forcing anyone to visit it.. It would be another story if I charged you to get access to the informations on the site... but I don´t ! It´s up to you alone, to decide wethter to visit it , and use the informations there or not.
And honestly, how many of you could look me in the eyes, and say that you wouldn ´t have taken the offer ? ($2k would have increased the income on that site by 1600%.)
And like someone allready pointed out, it´s common buisness among resource sites to promote or reccomend the highest bidder.

Besides.. Killah is so Holy that it´s almost scaring aint it ? I mean besides revealing a confidental ICQ log that is. (I believe there´s a law against revealing the privacy of life ?)

Actually I wasn´t going to comment on this, as what Killah did, was nothing but a childish revenge mission.

If you all had looked at the site in question you would have seen the reviews are done by the webmasters not the site owners. Hell I even reviewed a few sponsors in there.

So the owner did a review himself so what? I post galleries on my own TGP2 also, what's the problem?

No where is it claimed on the site to be an impartial site(Hell if webmasters review you better believe it's a subjective review depending if the webmaster is pissed or not.)

So to sum it up If the site is not responsible for the reviews it does not provide a service BUT a forum for webmasters no more.

On the other hand there is mister KJ word who's site has been one giant 404 for a few DAYS filled with ads and other crap. That does all investigating(If you can call it that) and reviews himself and does "CLAIM" to be impartial.
