Hi all,

For the last few days I've noticed a marked decrease in signups from CCBill accounts. The culmination was yesterday with zero new signups. That hasn't happened in close to a year for me.

Their click counter is working.. over 15000 hits sent yesterday.. normally that's $200+ in signups, yet yesterday... none.

I know CCBill had some delay issues a while back. Anyone else experiencing such problems?

Thanks for responses,

Tommy

Not sure what you mean by delay issues Tommy, I don't know that we've had them since I don't even know what they are. It's been a good while since we've had any glitches out of our stats programs either.

I've looked into specific accts anyone that's asked me, but I don't see an email from you...

Kimmy,

I've sent you an email.

The delay issue I mentioned was a few months back when stats weren't showing until 3-5 days afterwards. This included new signups and rebills. I clearly remember seeing $0 for a date and scratching my head then a few days later that date was populated with $400 of recurring and new signups. This continued for about 5-7 days.

Anyhow, thanks for the response,

Tommy

I have same kind of experiences.....
But it's been all July like that with me...
In june there was at least 3 signups per day, in july ZERO.
Something is sure happening....

while i agree that summer is a low point on the graph of sales, and that traffic is generally unpredictable, i do believe there were some issues yesterday with ccbill. i've been doing about 1:600 all week with a sponsor, then yesterday i'm 0:2400 or so. very odd.

i was looking at other sponsors, and tried to join a couple of them so that i could see if their member areas are any good. i couldnt join. the ccbill server kept timing out, or i'd get some kind of error. i tried this off and on all day and never did get into those sites.

today things seem fine, altho i havent had a signup yet and i've sent quite a good bit of traffic.

just my experiences.

Sabertooth, if you don't email me I can't check a single thing out for you since I wouldn't have a clue what your account number is or what time periods you were making comparisons to.

As I told those that have emailed me today, I'll look at it tomorrow when I'm in the office and have all the tools at my disposal to make an accurate analysis of what's going on.

The truly unfortunate thing is that in many cases, it has nothing to do with CCBill, even if you are getting the same number of surfers every day from the same place.

I have the ability to look and see how many times the join page was loaded from a particular link and also how many times the submit button was actually clicked.

What I'm seeing as an industry trend is that those numbers are going down steadily.

I'm also going to post a bit of a surfer email I got the other day -- with the site name blanked out but you'll see what I mean by smarter surfers from this.

"> > I set up an account with the XXXXXXXX web site. CCBill, acting as XXXXXXXXXX's credit card processor, accepted my application on behalf of XXXXXXXXXXX, and obtained authorization for my credit card to be charged for
the
> X-day trial membership. I
> immediately logged onto the XXXXXXXX site, and the first thing I did was
> check their Customer Service page for instructions on how to cancel the
> account. "

It's sad that it's come to this -- someone commented on another board that the current revenue models seem to be decaying, and I'm not ready to disagree with that statement yet.

What I do see is more money than ever coming into the industry -- shoot our numbers just keep going up up up and the overall conversions and retention aren't dropping that drastically as of yet, so my best guess is that it's a bigger pie but there are way more mouths to feed than the size the pie increased...

I received signups today - 5 of them - from my $29.95 sponsor.

But the more I look at this, the more I think it may be something.
I was sending about 400-500 per day to a penis enlargement sponsor. I averages 1.5 signups per day. For a week, I'd get 11 signups. I decided to advertise them on some of my other sites for a little extra $$. Now I am sending 900-1200 per day and have exactly ZERO signups the month of August.

So suddenly, I went from 2800-3500 hits sent per week and 11 signups to 6300-8400 hits sent per week and ZERO signups. I've gone 5 straight days without a signup on that sponsor. That seems very odd.

And I've been using that sponsor since June of 2000, I believe. I can't remember a week - or even 5 days - straight without a signup. That's even when I was sending much less than I'm sending now.

hmm
I thought I am the only one with these problems ... I've sent about 10k quality hits ( banner hits, no blinds ) and got 3 fucking signups ! so I think there's something wrong with CCBill

Once again, and for the last time -- since I will not address this issue again in this thread and perhaps not any other --

if you wish to email your details including acct numbers and dates of these issues, I will get you specific answers.

If not, then you can all complain to each other without ever finding out whether there really is a problem or not.
