Oneweb, you just need proof your american to enter Canada. Birth certificate and drivers license is enough. Would be nice to meet you, seems our 2 companies are pretty similiar. Let me know if your going and we can meet there.

Sincerely,
WG

3 of you guys are comming so far?

Not too shabby

The delta isn't the greatest, there's a shitload of hotels you can find around montreal. Remember it's all in canadian pesos.

www.montrealplus.ca
click on english at the top right corner.

Abby

Can anyone recommend a good hotel near the area? $250+ per night seems ridiculous to me. I know the sheradon is a few blocks away, just looking for other suggestions. I used to live in mtl about 5 years ago and I can't remember what else is nearby. I look forward to meeting you all there!

WG

Sherbrooke street is full of hotels, there's sure to be one to your liking.

Have you checked out www.montrealplus.ca ?

Abby

Yeah, I know they have tons, I'm just looking if someone has a recommendation for a good price/quality. I haven't stayed at hotels since I used to live there so I dunno what's good/not.

WG

What's your standard quality wise?

If you want stay at Motel Ideal, clean as hell, and cheap too. Good if you want to stay outside of Downtown.

www.motelideal.com

If not, Holiday Inn near china town, best western, and quality Inn. All with decent prices.

Abby

Shit I'd be their best client.

If you've ever been there you'd know it's better than some of the crusty "hotels".

Abby

Just thought I would let you guys know that the Ideal Motel you have been discussing is on the other side of the city :-( If you need to find something cheaper, you probably need to be looking for something downtown. That is where the Delta Center-ville is located. The traffic in Montreal can be crazy...

If you have any questions, you can contact me. But, I am not familiar enough with the area to suggest other hotels, as we found that most that were real close - were in the same price range. We will be adding to the exhibitor, sponsor, conference, and party list later this week.

Cab from there to delta is around 18$ CND, car takes you about 15minutes, 25 with a little bit of traffic (taking parc down not the highway).

The bitch will be parking downtown, there's practically none. Paid parking will run you under 12$ a day.

Staying downtown has it's advantages, the nightlife is downtown, and the place to be.

Abby

Ok guy's i've put together a quick list, called a few places and got a few quotes.

The prices are quoted for May 30 the june 2nd.

Here goes:

Web site : www.hotelvillemarie.com
Address : 3407 Peel street, corner of Sherbrooke street
Metro station : Peel then walk up (north) to Sherbrooke street
Tel. : (514) 1-800-361-7791, (514) 288-4141

*******
Daily Rate: (per room) 143.10 Canadian Dollars
Room Description:
1 QUEEN BED
*******
Daily Rate: (per room) 159.00 Canadian Dollars
Room Description:
1 QUEEN BED*
Rate Plan Description:
STANDARD RATE*THIS RATE IS AVAILABLE TO ALL TRAVELERS.
*******

Web site : www.comfortinn.com
Address : 505 Sherbrooke east, corner of Berri street
Metro station : Sherbooke
Tel. : (514) 1-800-561-4644, (514) 842-8581

No price yet

Days Inn Centre-Ville/Motel 8
Address : 2060 rue St-Dominique, corner of St-Norbert just south of Sherbrooke
Metro station : St-Laurent then walk up (north) on St-Laurent blvd. to St-Nortbert.
Tel. : (514) 844-4268
This turned into a Motel 8, it's decent. It's near Club Dome on st catherine and st laurent. Crusty view (next to nothing), stayed there for a quickie after the dome

Days Inn Downtown
Address : 1005 Guy street, south of Rene-Levesque blvd., H3H 2K4
Metro station : Lucien-L'Allier
Tel. : 1-800-567-0880, (514) 938-4611
Very nice place, view sucks, food isn't too bad, very nice decor at the diner tough, usually stop there when I need to use the rest room . Rooms start at 80$

Hôtel Europa Best Western
Web site : www.europahotelmtl.com
Address : 1240 Drummond street, between Rene-Levesque and Ste-Catherine, H3G 1V7
Metro station : Peel
Tel. : (514) 1-800-361-3000, (514) 866-6492

I've passed by it on my way to king kuts, it's on drumond right next to st catherine. Parallel streets with strip clubs on both of them. Very busy at most times. The DINER IS GORGEOUS. ALL white furniture (seen it from the outside). Next to angus steak house.

http://www.europahotelmtl.com/HTML/roomset.html (direct link to rates)

They have a special running
$44.50 per pers. dbl. occ. Includes:
0 Queen Room
0 Continental Breakfeast
0 In room Coffee & Tea
0 Free local calls
0 Free access to Health Spa
0 Subject to availability

This should be enough, I would recommend MOST of them, the motel 8 if your on a tight budjet and want to see crack whores outside when looking out your window. My pick is Hôtel Europa Best Western.

Enjoy, hope this helps.

if anything post your questions, I'll do my best to answer.

Abby
