So i got this new computer, with a nice 30 gig hd divided into 5 drives!

The first thing i did when i got was to try out all the games i haden't been able to play since my old comp diden't have 3d card and were too slow...

after having tried out all sort of progs and games, i decided to format the C drive since it was loaded with all kind of shit, but before i did so, i copied everything to another drive, the h one i think.

but after having formatted the c drive, i coulden't see any of the other drives!!
Now i could just use fdisk to clear out all the partitions but since my backup is on one of them i would like to restore them, but how??

I got hold of Partition Magic 6 since i thought that would do the job for me, but i can't seem to get it to work, it keeps reporting errors!

Does anyone have an idea of what to do?
I relly need the data i have on the HD!!

regards
Simon

Ouch! The partition problems always seem to be the most non-reparable ones.
If you did formatting on your drive C:, where all system files are stored usually you probably also deleted the partition info in FAT table ( or wherever it is stored) so the system cant recognize where those "logical" disks are located.
I am not sure there is any chance to get your data back, even if it was "soft" format.(so they are still on disk)

However my experiences are as long as 5 years old, when good old MS-DOS has been used on formatting etc., maybe nowadays there is som miracleous soft to get it back again...

The partition info cannot be deleted with a format. The backup is still there.
I have had the same problem which solved with fdisk. Keep tryng.

Go do a search on download.com for FINAL DATA.

I think it has to be run from windows, not sure though - might like to search for dos ones?
